Kevin Steffy Prier
Kevin has a strong biology background, with a doctoral dissertation in neurophysiology and extensive entomology training. His biology research has focused on neurological changes during insect metamorphosis, central nervous system processing of sound in the locust, and foraging behavior in the honey bee. He has been working his own urban homestead with his wife, Christina Prier Steffy since 1997, starting with gardening and preserving, and working up to all the skills we currently offer as classes. Kevin is very involved with the local community gardening and permaculture scene and supports the development of locally adapted varieties of fruit and vegetable seed.
